HJ 1256-2022 Guidance for Self-Monitoring of Wastewater Units in the Manufacturing Industries of Traditional Chinese Medicines, Biological Drugs, and Pharmaceutical Preparations
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the general requirements for self-monitoring by wastewater discharge units in the manufacturing of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), biological drugs, and chemical preparations, including the formulation of monitoring plans, basic content and requirements for information recording and reporting. This standard applies to wastewater discharge units in the TCM, biological drugs, and chemical preparations manufacturing industries during the production and operation phase, for monitoring their emissions of water and air pollutants, noise, and impacts on the surrounding environmental quality. This standard also applies to wastewater discharge units in traditional ethnic medicines such as Tibetan and Mongolian medicine manufacturing industries, as well as wastewater discharge units in veterinary drug production enterprises similar to TCM, biological drugs, and chemical preparations. For wastewater discharge units in the pharmaceutical manufacturing industry that use traditional microbial fermentation technologies to prepare antibiotics, vitamins, amino acids, and other drugs, self-monitoring shall be conducted in accordance with HJ 882. For TCM manufacturing units that extract specific drug components for production, self-monitoring of their pollution emissions shall be conducted in accordance with HJ 881. For wastewater discharge units in the TCM, biological drugs, and chemical preparations manufacturing industries with their own thermal power generation units (plants) and supporting power boilers, self-monitoring requirements shall be implemented in accordance with HJ 820.
