Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the corrosion resistance of glass in a 100°C hydrochloric acid solution by flame emission or atomic absorption spectroscopy. The acid resistance of glass is expressed as the mass of alkali oxides dissolved per unit area of the glass surface. This standard is applicable to borosilicate glass products with good acid resistance. If the sample is pre-treated with acid, the acid resistance of the glass material can also be determined.
