Basic Information
Scope
This standard describes soil sampling in the following sites: -- Natural and near-natural sites; -- Agricultural areas (cultivated land and pasture sites); -- Horticultural areas (including home gardens and community vegetable gardens); -- Areas for special crop cultivation, tree planting, vineyards, etc.; -- Forest areas and woodlands. This standard applies to: -- Soil surveys and evaluations conducted in the field; -- The description of the chemical, geochemical, physical, biological, and radioactive characteristics of soil and soil materials in the laboratory after sampling. This standard provides appropriate methods for sample collection procedures, field operation steps, and the transportation and storage required before sample preparation (such as drying and grinding). Note: This standard can be used in conjunction with other national standards on soil quality when appropriate.
