GB/T 19699-2012 Ships and marine technology—Pressure/vacuum valves for cargo tanks
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the minimum requirements for the performance and testing of pressure/vacuum valves, and emphasizes the material selection, internal processing, and surface requirements of PV valves installed in the cargo tanks of liquid cargo ships (see Appendix A). This standard stipulates the design and performance criteria for PV valves, as well as their operation, testing, and maintenance requirements.
A certificate of conformity with this standard does not guarantee the suitability of any PV valve, but merely indicates that certain minimum requirements have been taken into account and that the necessary information for determining suitability has been provided to the purchaser of the equipment.
This standard applies to pressure/vacuum relief valves that serve to protect against gas/steam pressure or vacuum exceeding the design parameters of the system/compartment in ship systems (including cargo tanks).
This standard does not include all testing procedures for flame-arresting devices, such as flame arresters. Such equipment may be used in conjunction with PV valves.
