GB/T 19699-2023 Ships and marine technology—Pressure-vacuum valves for cargo tanks and devices to prevent the passage of flame into cargo tanks
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies the minimum requirements for the performance and testing of pressure vacuum valves and flame arresters, as well as the performance requirements in design and operation, and the requirements for operational testing and maintenance. Design or manufacturing according to this document does not imply suitability for any given installation. It indicates that certain minimum requirements have been considered and provides the equipment purchaser with the necessary information to determine suitability. This document applies to pressure vacuum valves and flame arresters, both of which protect liquid cargo tanks from the effects of explosive gases/vapors and/or gas/vapor pressures or vacuums exceeding the system/tank design parameters. This document includes the flame test procedures of ISO 16852:2016. Note: The minimum requirements for flame arresters are specified in Chapter II-2, Regulation 4 of the International Maritime Organization (IMO)’s amended International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS), and in IMO Maritime Safety Committee (MSC) Circular No. 677, "Revised Standards for the Design, Testing, and Installation of Flame Arresters".
