GB/T 28963-2012 Ships and marine technology—Fire-extinguishing systems for protection of galley cooking equipment
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the performance requirements for components and parts of prefabricated fire-extinguishing systems when applied in specific types, configurations, specifications, and arrangements. It also stipulates the minimum requirements for testing and component evaluation.
This standard applies to the design, testing, and operation of prefabricated fire-extinguishing systems used to protect kitchen smoke hoods, smoke pipes, fryers, and other oil-containing equipment.
For features, characteristics, components, materials, or systems of products that are new or different from the requirements of this standard, and which pose potential risks of fire, electric shock, or personal injury, appropriate additional tests of components or finished products may be conducted for evaluation.
Note: Among the kitchen cooking equipment covered by this standard, only deep-frying cooking equipment is required to be equipped with fixed fire-extinguishing systems in accordance with the requirements of Chapter II-2, Article 10.6.4 of the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).
