GB/T 14318-2008 Radiation protection instrumentation—Neutron ambient dose equivalent(rate) meters
Basic Information
Scope
This standard applies to instruments used to measure the ambient dose equivalent (rate) produced by neutron radiation with an energy of less than 16 MeV, which shall include at least the following: a) Detection devices, such as those composed of a thermal neutron detector and a moderating and absorbing medium surrounding the detector; b) Measurement devices displaying the measurement results, which may be integrated with the detection devices or be separate devices connected by cables. The requirements for the above-mentioned devices are given below. For devices with special purposes, where some of the requirements in the following text are not necessary, the manufacturer and user may negotiate and specify special requirements applicable to these devices, but the method of determining the device performance shall comply with this standard. This standard does not specify the performance test methods for devices in pulsed radiation fields, so it cannot determine whether devices designed to meet this standard are suitable for use in pulsed radiation fields. This standard specifies the performance requirements for neutron ambient dose equivalent (rate) instruments and the test methods for determining whether their performance meets the requirements of this standard. This standard also specifies the general characteristics, general test methods, radiation characteristics, electrical characteristics, mechanical characteristics, safety characteristics, and environmental characteristics of neutron ambient dose equivalent (rate) instruments, and gives the requirements for inspection certificates. It also specifies the requirements and test methods for neutron ambient dose equivalent (rate) instruments with alarm functions.
