Scope

This standard specifies the requirements, test methods, labels, user manuals, packaging, transportation, and storage for total protein assay kits (using the biuret method).
This standard applies to kits used for quantitatively detecting total protein in human serum (plasma) using the biuret method, based on the principle of spectrophotometry, including manual reagents and reagents used on semi-automatic and fully automatic biochemical analyzers.
This standard does not apply to total protein assay kits using the dry chemistry method.
