GB/T 12009.5-2016 Plastics—Aromatic isocyanates for use in the production of polyurethane—Part 5:Determination of acidity
Basic Information
Scope
This part of GB/T 12009 specifies the method for determining the acidity of aromatic isocyanates used in polyurethane production by potentiometric titration. This part is applicable to the determination of acidity in aromatic isocyanates and their prepolymers used as raw materials for polyurethane. Method A is suitable for crude or modified diphenylmethane diisocyanate, polyisocyanates with multiple methyl groups, and toluene diisocyanate products with medium/high acidity values (> 100 μg/g). Method B is suitable for refined, crude, or modified diphenylmethane diisocyanate, polyisocyanates with multiple methyl groups, and toluene diisocyanate products with low acidity values (< 100 μg/g). These methods are also applicable to mixtures of toluene diisocyanate, diphenylmethane diisocyanate, and polyisocyanates with multiple methyl groups. Other isocyanates, if proven suitable, can also be tested using this method.
