Scope

This document provides guidance on achieving financial and economic benefits by applying a top-down structured approach. This structured approach utilizes the quality management principles and quality management systems described in the GB/T 19000 series of quality management system standards to:
a) Monitor and manage the trends of key performance indicators;
b) Take improvement actions based on the monitored indicators.
This document is intended to provide guidance for the top management of organizations.
This document is applicable to any organization, whether in the public sector, private sector, or non-profit sector, and is independent of its business model, revenue, employee numbers, product and service diversity, organizational culture, process complexity, location, or scale.
This document supplements the performance improvement content of GB/T 19001-2016 and GB/T 19004-2020, providing examples of the benefits that can be achieved by applying the concepts in these standards, and identifying relevant practical management methods and tools that can help achieve these benefits.
