Scope

This document describes the method for determining the content of specific phthalates by pyrolysis/thermal desorption gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (Py/TD-GC-MS) (see Appendix A).
This document is applicable to all types of footwear materials except metals.
Note: The list of specific phthalates applicable to this document can be found in CEN/TR 16417.
Compared with GB/T 32440.1, these two analytical methods have similar trends, but the results may not be absolutely identical. Therefore, in the event of any disputes, GB/T 32440.1 should be used as the priority reference.
