Scope

This standard specifies the general usage conditions, technical requirements, inspection rules, packaging, marking, and transportation of 1,000 kV post insulators. This standard applies to porcelain post insulators, factory composite post insulators, and solid core composite post insulators (hereinafter referred to as "insulators") used on power equipment such as 1,000 kV busbars, disconnect switches, reactors, and shunt platforms. Post insulators for DC systems can also be used for reference. This standard does not include some requirements involved in selecting post insulators for specific operating conditions.
