Scope

This guidance technical document specifies the usage conditions, rated values, design and structure, testing, selection guidelines, transportation, storage, installation, operation, and maintenance requirements for 1,100 kV high-voltage AC circuit breakers.
This guidance technical document is applicable to high-voltage AC circuit breakers designed for outdoor installation and operation in an extra-high voltage power system with a frequency of 50 Hz and a nominal voltage of 1,000 kV.
This guidance technical document is also applicable to the operating mechanisms and auxiliary equipment of 1,100 kV circuit breakers.
Except for circuit breakers with single-pole automatic reclosing, circuit breakers with predefined inter-pole differentiation are not included in the scope of this guidance technical document.
Bypass circuit breakers connected in parallel with line-side capacitors and their protective equipment are not included in the scope of this guidance technical document.
