Scope

This standard specifies the device, principle, conditions, and method for measuring the sound pressure reflection coefficient, sound pressure transmission coefficient, and sound absorption coefficient of underwater acoustic materials (or components) using the traveling wave tube method. This standard is applicable to the measurement of the sound pressure reflection coefficient (or echo reduction), sound pressure transmission coefficient (or insertion loss), and sound absorption coefficient of plane layered underwater acoustic materials (or components) (hereinafter referred to as "samples") in the frequency range of 100 Hz to 3,150 Hz under variable temperature and pressure conditions.
