Scope

This document specifies the requirements, inspection rules, and markings for marine semiconductor converters (hereinafter referred to as "converter"), as well as packaging, transportation, storage, and accompanying documents. It also describes the corresponding test methods. This document applies to the design, manufacture, and testing of input-output converters constructed from semiconductor rectifier diodes, various types of thyristors, gate turn-off thyristors (GTOs), insulated gate bipolar transistors (IGBTs), integrated gate commutated thyristors (IGCTs), metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs), and other power electronic devices.
