Scope

This standard specifies a method for determining the plastic strain ratio of metal sheets and thin strips.
This standard is applicable to materials subject to uniform plastic deformation (i.e., the part of the stress-strain curve that rises monotonically and continuously within the range of plastic deformation), and also to materials subject to non-uniform plastic deformation (i.e., the part of the stress-strain curve that takes on a sawtooth or other discontinuous shape within the range of plastic deformation).
