Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for the coating colors, lettering, character colors, color rings, color bands, and inspection color codes on the outer surface of gas cylinders. It is one of the main indicators for identifying the gas filled in the gas cylinders and the regular inspection period.
This standard applies to rechargeable gas cylinders that comply with TSG R0006 and related gas cylinder standards.
This standard does not apply to non-rechargeable gas cylinders, fire-extinguishing gas cylinders, and cylindrical pressure vessels attached to machinery and equipment.
