Scope
This standard specifies the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry method for determining six volatile carboxylic acid compounds in ambient air. This standard is applicable to the determination of six volatile carboxylic acid compounds, including acetic acid, propionic acid, n-butyric acid, acrylic acid, isovaleric acid, and n-pentanoic acid, in ambient air and air at unorganized emission monitoring points. When the sampling volume is 60 L (at standard conditions) and the concentrated and diluted volume is 1.0 ml, the method's detection limit is 0.2 μg/m3 to 7 μg/m3, and the determination limit is 0.8 μg/m3 to 28 μg/m3. For details, see Appendix A.
