Scope

This document describes a method (hereinafter referred to as the "volume method") for measuring the volume of liquid flowing into a work volume meter within a unit time to determine the liquid flow rate in a closed pipeline, including the principle, device, implementation steps, calculation of flow rate, and evaluation of measurement-related uncertainties.
The method described in this document is suitable for liquids that meet the following conditions:
a) The measurement medium is a low-vapor-pressure liquid (to ensure that any liquid evaporating from the work volume meter will not affect the required measurement accuracy);
b) Low viscosity (which will not alter or excessively delay the measurement of the liquid level in the work volume meter);
c) Non-toxic and non-corrosive characteristics.
