Scope
This standard specifies the materials, surface quality, diameter and diameter deviation, length and length deviation, joints, sampling, test sites, mechanical property tests, zinc coating tests, and certificates of conformity for galvanized steel wires with a nominal diameter of 1.25 mm to 5.50 mm (including the coating). Galvanized steel wires are divided into five strength grades, denoted as Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, Grade 4, and Grade 5. The zinc coating is divided into two grades, namely Grade A and Grade B.
This standard applies to galvanized steel wires used in overhead conductor structures and/or for reinforcement purposes.
