Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the content of inorganic sulfates in surfactants.
This standard applies to anionic surfactants containing sodium sulfate, ammonium sulfate, alkanolamines, and sulfates.
This standard does not apply to products containing other compounds that will generate poorly soluble lead salts under test conditions, such as phosphates or products with a large amount of chlorides, nor to products that will interfere with pH adjustment and contain a large amount of weak acids (for example, soap or succinic acid monoester sulfonate).
