LY/T 3170-2024 Portable hedge trimmer

Scope

This document defines the terms and definitions of portable hedge trimmers (hereinafter referred to as "hedge trimmers"), provides the basic parameters of hedge trimmers, stipulates the performance requirements and requirements for marking, user manuals, packaging, transportation, storage, and disposal of hedge trimmers, and describes the corresponding test methods and product model compilation methods. This document applies to the design, development, production, and testing of the following hedge trimmers: — Hedge trimmers powered by lithium-ion batteries with a nominal voltage not exceeding 75 V (hereinafter referred to as "lithium-ion hedge trimmers"); — Single-phase AC hedge trimmers with a rated voltage not exceeding 250 V (hereinafter referred to as "AC hedge trimmers"); — Hedge trimmers powered by gasoline engines with a displacement not exceeding 80 cm3 (hereinafter referred to as "gasoline hedge trimmers"). Note: In this document, "electric hedge trimmers" refers to "lithium-ion hedge trimmers" and "AC hedge trimmers". This document does not apply to: — Backpack-style gasoline hedge trimmers; — Hedge trimmers with rotating blades; — Pole-type hedge trimmers with a maximum length exceeding 3.5 m. Note: For measuring the length of pole-type hedge trimmers, refer to GB/T 3883.402–2023, Section 21.101.
