Scope

This standard describes the requirements, design, and installation of hose fittings used in the refrigerant circuits of refrigeration systems and heat pumps (these hose fittings include metal hoses, metal flexible pipes, non-metallic hoses, vibration isolators, and expansion joints). Hose fittings are not suitable for situations where the load exceeds the elastic limit only occasionally, such as during repairs or when connected to freely rotating or hinged joints.
