Scope

This document specifies the measurement and evaluation of the in-ear sound performance characteristics of air-conduction hearing aids, as well as recommendations and requirements for measuring the specific sound properties of the human ear related to hearing aid applications.
The results of in-ear sound characteristic measurements for hearing aids that employ non-linear or analytical processing techniques are only valid for the test signals and test conditions used.
The purpose of this document is to ensure that the in-ear sound performance characteristics of a given hearing aid measured on a specific human ear can be reproduced using other testing equipment and at other testing locations.
