Scope

This part of GB/T 21559 specifies the calculation methods for the basic rated dynamic load and basic rated life of linear motion rolling bearings. It is applicable to linear motion rolling bearings that use contemporary, commonly used, high-quality quenched bearing steel, are manufactured according to good processing methods, and have a rolling contact surface shape that is basically of conventional design. This part also specifies the definition of the life of linear motion rolling bearings and the conditions for reliable life calculation. This part is not applicable to designs where the rolling elements operate directly on the sliding surfaces of mechanical equipment, unless the surface is equivalent in all aspects to the raceways of linear motion rolling bearing components and can be substituted for them.
