Scope

This document specifies the calculation methods for the basic rated dynamic load and basic rated life of linear motion rolling bearings, as well as the calculation methods for the life of linear motion rolling bearings and the conditions required for reliable life calculation. This document applies to linear motion rolling bearings made from modern, commonly used, high-quality hardened bearing steel, manufactured using good processing methods, and with the rolling contact surfaces designed in a conventional manner. This document does not apply to designs where the rolling elements operate directly on the smooth surfaces of mechanical equipment, unless these surfaces are comparable in all aspects to the raceways of the linear motion rolling bearing components they replace.
