Scope

This document specifies the grading, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of high-purity quartz sand for fiber optic manufacturing processes. This document applies to high-purity quartz sand used in the production of fiber optic primary materials and auxiliary materials, including quartz sand prepared from natural quartz ores through processing and purification processes, as well as synthetic quartz sand prepared from silicon-containing compounds using physical and chemical methods.
