Scope

This document specifies the specific requirements and acceptable conditions for different calibration methods when calibrating with a minimum number of calibration gas mixtures.
The methods described in this document are applicable to the following purposes:
—— Calibrating instruments with one or two calibration gas mixtures;
—— Determining the composition of gas samples;
—— Evaluating the uncertainty of the gas sample composition based on the uncertainty of the composition of the calibration gas mixtures used and the uncertainty components introduced by the measurement process.
In the methods described in this document, the composition is expressed in terms of molar fractions of substances. Other forms of quantity (such as mass fractions, volume fractions, or concentrations) are also applicable.
