Scope

This standard specifies the main technical parameters, limit requirements, measurement methods, and air interface protocols for dedicated digital intercom equipment used in mobile or fixed communication networks on land, in inland waterways, or along coasts, with an operating frequency range of 25 MHz to 1000 MHz, a channel spacing of 12.5 kHz, and employing time-division multiple access or frequency-division multiple access technologies.
This standard applies to dedicated digital intercom base stations, repeater stations, mobile stations (vehicle- and ship-mounted stations), handheld stations, and other equipment.
