Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements, environmental conditions, basic requirements, display, materials, and processing for single-phase smart energy meters. This document is applicable to the design, manufacture, procurement, acceptance, and use of installed AC single-phase smart energy meters (hereinafter referred to as "energy meters") for measuring electrical energy in power grids with a nominal frequency of 50 Hz (or 60 Hz).
