Scope
This standard specifies the classification and naming, requirements, test methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (PEUHMW) resins. This standard applies to PEUHMW resins with a weight-average molecular weight of more than 1 million. This standard applies to all powdered PEUHMW homopolymers or other copolymers with a mass fraction of 1-olefin monomer less than 50% and a mass fraction of non-olefin monomers with functional groups not exceeding 3%. This standard does not apply to PEUHMW materials modified by colorants, fillers, color masterbatches, etc.
