GB/T 32682-2016 Plastics—Determination of environment stress cracking(ESC) of polyethylene—Full-notch creep test(FNCT)
Basic Information
Scope
This standard specifies the test method for determining the stress crack resistance of polyethylene (PE) materials in environmental reagents. The test involves cutting notched specimens from injection-molded test pieces or products, immersing the specimens in environmental reagents maintained at a specified temperature, such as surfactant solutions, and applying a static tensile load to determine the failure time. This standard is applicable to evaluating polyethylene materials, as well as the effects of corrosive environments such as hazardous substances/chemicals on polyethylene extruded parts, such as pipe segments, polyethylene welded joints, and polyethylene blow-molded containers. Other thermoplastic materials, such as polypropylene (PP), can also be used as reference. Note: The stress/orientation of the products during processing may affect the results.
