Scope
1.1 This standard specifies the measurement method for the flow distance of thermosetting phenolic resins for production and control purposes. This standard specifies the test conditions such as the preparation of sample ingots, test temperature, and the inclination angle of the glass plate involved in the measurement of flow distance.
1.2 The flow distance is related to the reactivity and melt viscosity of the resin. Resins with fast curing speed and high melt viscosity have a short flow distance.
