Scope

1.0.1 In order to standardize the geotechnical testing methods for hydropower projects, improve the quality of testing results, and enhance the consistency and comparability of testing results, these regulations are formulated. 1.0.2 These regulations apply to indoor and on-site tests for determining the basic engineering properties of inorganic soils, such as foundations, slope stability, underground chambers, and fill materials, in hydropower projects, as well as to the control and inspection of construction quality. 1.0.3 Soil samples shall be managed in accordance with the provisions of Appendix A of these regulations. 1.0.4 The organization of geotechnical test results shall involve analyzing the data samples obtained from the tests to study the characteristics of soil units and their change laws. The organization of test results and the preparation of test reports shall be conducted in accordance with the provisions of Appendix B of these regulations. 1.0.5 The basic parameters and technical conditions of indoor geotechnical testing instruments shall comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 15406, *General Requirements for Indoor Geotechnical Testing Instruments*. 1.0.6 Unless otherwise specified, clean water may be used for testing. For tests requiring specific water densities and specific gravities, the specific gravity of water shall be set to 1, and the density shall be set to 1 g/cm3. 1.0.7 In addition to complying with these regulations, geotechnical tests for hydropower projects shall also comply with the provisions of relevant national standards currently in force.
