Scope

Scope: This standard specifies the basic requirements, cultivation techniques, pest and disease control, harvesting, and storage and transportation for chives cultivation in the "Tianfu River Basin" protected area. This standard applies to the green cultivation of chives in the "Tianfu River Basin" protected area. Main technical content: 4.1 Pre-sowing preparation: - Tillage and fertilization: Deep-till the soil and apply approximately 3,000 kg of composted organic fertilizer and 15–20 kg of compound fertilizer per mu. - Leveling and compacting: Rake the soil into a fine texture and irrigate it thoroughly. 4.2 Variety selection: - Seed quality must meet the requirements of GB 16715.5. - Select high-quality, high-yielding, cold-resistant, heat-resistant, and disease-resistant varieties that have passed cultivation trials in Bayannur City and are suitable for local cultivation. 4.3 Seed treatment: - Seeds can be soaked in warm water or treated with pesticides. - Warm water soaking: Place the seeds in 55°C warm water for 20 minutes, then soak them in 40°C warm water for 12 hours to remove empty seeds and impurities. Wash off the mucilage. - Pesticide soaking: Soak the seeds in distilled water at room temperature for 2 hours, select full and shiny seeds, dry them with absorbent paper, and soak them in 0.02% potassium permanganate solution for 1 hour. Rinse them twice after removal. - Germination: After soaking, wrap the seeds in a damp cloth and place them in a 16°C–20°C environment for germination. Rinse them once or twice daily with clean water. Plant when more than 60% of the seeds show white roots. 4.4 Sowing: - Direct sowing or seedling cultivation are both acceptable. 4.5 Direct sowing: - Sow in late March, with a row width of about 12 cm and a row spacing of 15 cm, and a sowing depth of 3 cm.
