Scope
This standard specifies the lightning impulse withstand voltage of low-voltage power lines and electronic equipment, as well as lightning overvoltage protection devices (such as SPDs) and overvoltage limiting measures. It also proposes the coordination principles between them. This standard applies to low-voltage power lines and electronic equipment systems with an AC rated voltage of no more than 1,000 V, a rated frequency of no more than 30 kHz, or a DC rated voltage of no more than 1,500 V.
