Scope

This part of GB/T 19678 specifies the general principles and detailed requirements for the design and preparation of various user manuals. User manuals are very necessary or useful for product users. The product range includes everything from a can of paint to large or highly complex products, such as large-scale industrial equipment or buildings. Note: The term "product" defined in 3.29 includes consumer and non-consumer products, electrical, electronic, electromechanical, mechanical, and other products. This part applies to all parties involved in the preparation of user manuals, such as suppliers, technical document writers, professional illustrators, software designers, translators, or other personnel engaged in the conception and drafting of manuals. This part of GB/T 19678 does not specify a fixed number of documents that need to be delivered with the product, as it applies to all types of products. The number of required documents will depend on the nature of the product, its complexity, and the skills of the intended users.
