Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the cadmium content in paper, cardboard, and pulp.
This standard is applicable to various types of paper, cardboard, and pulp that can be wet digested with nitric acid, including those containing recycled fibers.
The detection limit of this method is approximately 1 mg/kg when measured by flame atomic absorption spectrometry, and approximately 0.2 mg/kg when pre-treated with Method III; it is approximately 10 μg/kg when measured by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry.
