Scope

This document specifies the operation and interpretation of results for industrial X-ray computed tomography (CT) systems, with the aim of providing inspection personnel with relevant technical information to select appropriate parameters during the inspection process.
This document is applicable to industrial X-ray computed tomography (non-medical applications) inspections, and provides a set of unified CT performance parameter definitions, as well as the relationship between these performance parameters and the technical specifications of CT systems.
This document is applicable to computed axial tomography, but not to other types of tomography such as translational scanning tomography and tomographic synthesis.
