Scope

This document applies to the self-commutated valves in the voltage source converter (VSC) of a static synchronous compensation device (STATCOM), and is limited to electrical type testing and product testing. The tests specified in this document are based on air-insulated valves. For other types of valves, the test requirements and acceptance criteria shall be determined through consultation between the buyer and the seller.
