Scope

This part of GB/T 20990 specifies the items, requirements, and criteria for type testing and product testing of valves.
This part applies to thyristor valves used in high-voltage direct current transmission or as part of a back-to-back system, with metal oxide surge arresters directly connected to both ends of the valve. This part is limited to electrical type testing and product testing only.
The tests specified in this part are based on air-insulated valves. Other types of valves may also refer to the requirements and acceptance standards of this part.
