Scope
This standard specifies the application of glow discharge atomic emission spectrometry to analyze the thickness of the plating layer, the quality of the plating layer (per unit area), and the chemical composition of the metal plating layer in zinc and/or aluminum-based alloy plating. The alloying elements that need to be considered include nickel, iron, silicon, lead, and antimony.
The range of elemental mass fractions applicable to this standard is: zinc (0.01% to 100%), aluminum (0.01% to 100%), nickel (0.01% to 20%), iron (0.01% to 20%), silicon (0.01% to 10%), lead (0.005% to 2%), and antimony (0.005% to 2%).
