Scope

This standard specifies the product classification, requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage of oil lubrication and sealing devices for ship stern shafts (hereinafter referred to as oil sealing devices).
This standard applies to the design, manufacture, and acceptance of oil lubrication and sealing devices for stern shafts in power shaft systems where the distance between the stern shaft centerline and the water surface is not greater than 20 m, and the linear velocity of the outer diameter of the stern shaft bushings is not greater than 7 m/s.
