Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the flash point of petroleum products and other liquids with a flash point between -30°C and 70°C using the closed-cup method. The precision of this standard is only applicable to samples with a flash point between -5°C and 665°C. This standard is not applicable to water-based coatings, which can be tested according to ISO 3679.
