Scope

This document specifies the basic voltages and test methods used in DC electric traction systems.
This document applies to the voltage of the power supply lines of DC electric traction systems under normal operating conditions.
This document is mainly applied to the following electrified transportation:
a) Electrified transportation in industrial and mining enterprises (including underground tunnel transportation);
b) Urban rail transit, such as subway electric vehicles, light rail trains, trolleybuses, low-speed maglev trains, etc.;
c) Urban trolleybuses and dual-energy trolleybuses;
d) Electrified railways in suburban areas (including satellite towns) and local railways.
This document is not applicable to:
a) The rated voltage for indicating or transmitting signals (measurement values);
b) The rated voltage of components or equipment units in electrical equipment;
c) The rated voltage of cranes, mobile platforms, and ropeway cable cars.
Note 1: The DC voltage involved in this document is an average value.
Note 2: The DC voltage in this document refers to ripple-free DC voltage, and the DC voltage with a sinusoidal ripple content not exceeding ten percent of the root-mean-square value is usually called "ripple-free DC".
