Scope
This standard specifies the method outline, test preparation, test procedure, quality assurance and quality control, data and reporting for the inherent biodegradability of chemicals according to the Zahn-Willens test. This standard is applicable to the determination of the inherent biodegradability of water-soluble (with a mass concentration in water of not less than 50 mg/L, calculated as DOC), non-volatile, non-strongly adsorptive, and non-loss due to foaming of the solution, and having no inhibitory effect on microorganisms at the test concentration of chemicals.
