Scope
This document provides guidance on how to select the wheelchair required by users in accordance with national standards for wheelchairs. It also outlines standardized testing and information disclosure, comprehensive considerations for wheelchair selection, user physical characteristics, and guidelines for manual and electric wheelchairs, helping users understand the purpose and content of national wheelchair standards.
The document is composed of the following six chapters.
a) How to use this technical report.
b) Standardized testing methods and information disclosure: Provides the background of standardized testing information for wheelchairs. Explains how wheelchairs are tested and how the information should be disclosed.
c) Comprehensive considerations: Describes comprehensive considerations for selecting manual or electric wheelchairs.
d) User physical characteristics: Information about the user's physical characteristics suitable for manual or electric wheelchairs.
e) Manual wheelchairs: Describes the testing methods for manual wheelchairs.
f) Electric wheelchairs: Describes the testing methods for electric wheelchairs, with a focus on three- and four-wheeled electric mobility scooters and standard electric wheelchairs. 〖ZK)〗
The testing methods in the chapters on manual and electric wheelchairs are based on the following three aspects:

For each test, this document includes the following content:

——How to interpret these test results from the user's perspective.
