Scope

This standard specifies the requirements for facilities and equipment for mold control in tobacco and tobacco products, including storage, retrieval, monitoring and inspection, process control, and the handling of moldy products.
This standard applies to the mold control of flue-cured tobacco, Burley tobacco, aromatic tobacco, and their processed products (reconstituted tobacco leaves, tobacco stems and fragments, and cigarettes).
This standard does not apply to reconstituted tobacco leaves.
