Scope

1.1 This part of GB/T 37194 specifies a naming system for the basic classification of thermoplastic polyphenylene sulfide materials.
1.2 Different types of polyphenylene sulfide plastics are distinguished based on the values of the specified characteristic properties and the specific applications and/or processing methods, important properties, additives, colorants, fillers, and reinforcing materials:
a)〖WB〗Melt mass flow rate or melt viscosity;
b)〖DW〗Density;
c)〖DW〗Tensile modulus.
〖STFZ〗1.3〖ST〗This part of GB/T 37194 applies to all PPS materials.
It applies to powdered, granular, or spherical materials, either unmodified or modified with colorants, additives, fillers, and reinforcing materials.
〖STFZ〗1.4〖ST〗Materials with the same name do not necessarily have the same performance. This part does not provide engineering data, performance data, or data on processing conditions required by the specific applications and/or processing methods of the specified materials.
When necessary, these additional properties can be determined using the test methods specified in ISO 280782.
〖STFZ〗1.5〖ST〗To illustrate the special applications of a certain thermoplastic material or to ensure the reproducibility of processing, additional requirements can be given using character group 5 (see 3.1).
