Scope
This standard specifies the identifiers (ISLI) for linking uniquely identifiable entities in the information and literature fields. ISLI can identify and recognize the relationships between related entities, enabling applications such as composite applications. This is achieved by registering each identifier that contains associated information (metadata). This standard applies to entities in the information and literature fields, which may include documents, media resources (digital and analog, fixed and non-fixed carriers), people, or other abstract entities (such as time and location). ISLI does not change the content, ownership, access rights, or existing identifiers of the associated entities.
